About the Sofas
Our sofas evolved from a love of lounging. At the end of a hard day in the workshop all we wanted to do was to flop into a sumptuous sofa and chat or read for a while before venturing into the kitchen to take part in our other favourite hobby, cooking and eating……… sorry, I digress.
This relaxing lark didn't pose a problem in the colder months as we own a rather comfy and roomy sofa that sits in our living room, as do most of us; the problem comes in the summer months when you want to chill out after work, with your gin and tonic out of doors. And so here it is, modelled on the indoor version, but made for the outdoors, or the conservatory, or for indoors……… your choice.
'good dog', 'good dog', stay there?!
Originally made as the ultimate in outdoor lounging, this day bed has made its way into many an indoor setting.
The sofa is made from green oak which is lovely to work with and when we've completed, our work on a sofa, the timber carries on moving and twisting slowly as it dries (like the beams of a medieval timber-framed house) making each sofa unique and it will still be drying and changing slightly when its in your home or garden.

The green oak will move and twist as it dries, making each piece unique.
We use green oak, most of which is locally sourced and employ traditional construction methods throughout with oak draw pegs, some of which you hammer in when you put it together.
Traditionally constructed using treenails, it is very sturdy, very practical and will last for years to come.
Apart from being a beautiful thing, your sofa is incredibly sturdy and very practical. It can take any amount of knocks and bangs, ideal when there are children and animals around and the lack of acres of upholstery means you don't have to worry too much about stains and marks. You can ring the changes easily too and alter the look of your sofa by simply changing the base cushions and adding some new scatter cushions.
The simple, informal design style fits into any setting
